If schools have to close for the coronavirus outbreak, there is help offered from some of our close friends!
2Simple Software
“We know that schools always strive to stay open but there are sometimes circumstances that mean schools have to close. This doesn’t mean the learning needs to stop. Purple Mash gives schools access to both school and home learning.” (2Simple Software)
What can we do in Purple Mash?
Purple Mash contains thousands of opportunities for learning:
- Open ended tools
- Spelling and Grammar
- Maths
- Cross Curricular project work
There is a downloadable guide showing how Purple Mash can help. Find out more here and sign up – if your school does not already have an account – for free access for the duration of your school closure. (2Simple are offering free access to both Purple Mash and Serial Mash for the duration of your closure.)
Common Sense Media
Common Sense Media provides a useful list of free educational Apps, Games and Websites which could be shared with parents in case of school closure.
“Since the subjects here range from reading to math skills, kids can find all sorts of fun practice for all kinds of topics. The best part is that kids can check them out and move on if a title isn’t a great fit — and it won’t impact your wallet! These resources are either completely free, or full of quality free content for kids to explore. “ (Common Sense Media)
TES
Schools advice from the TES is updated regularly in their Coronavirus and Schools: LIVE .
“Here, we aim to help teachers in the UK and in international schools by gathering together all the relevant stories in one place and keeping you updated with the latest news and announcements as and when they happen.” (TES)
If we hear of other offerings for schools, if they have to close, we will share them here.
