Our featured theme for May 2019 is Local History!

Local History. As May is Local and Community History Month, we thought that Local History would make a great featured theme for this month. Local history is an enjoyable topic for children to study as takes in a locale that may be familiar to them and it also lends itself to many great local school trips. We have 26 great local history themed websites on offer. The resources cover: local history studies in general, history in specific localities, how to begin a local history study, Local and Community History Month and more besides.

The resources comprise of a mixture of: information, facts, research, ideas for hands-on activities, illustrations, images and video clips, as well as some detailed planning – each of which will successfully support this very interesting local historical theme.

The featured theme is updated monthly during the school year.  Watch out for our great ‘Art and Design’ resources, coming in June 2019!
