Young RSPCA Photo CompetitionThe Young RSPCA Photo Competition is running until 16 August, children up to the age of 12 can enter up to five photographs into the competition.

Camera Submissions

There is lots of help for children who have a camera and wish to enter, hints, tips, ideas, etc, on the under 12s section of the website.  It would make a really good summer holiday project!

We’re looking for fab photos of the animals around you – beautiful or funny images that tell a story about an animal and show their characteristics. Most of all, it’s about celebrating animals and showing what you like about them and why you think they’re interesting.” (RSPCA)

Children are invited to tell the judges a bit about the photo – where it was taken, why you like the animal and why you think your photo stands out – in no more than 80 words.

Mobile Phone & Tablet Submissions

If the child entering only has a mobile phone or tablet they need to enter the  Mobile Phone and Devices section.

The brief:

We’re looking for photos of the animals around you; on the go, quirky and interesting, beautiful or funny. Images that tell a story about an animal and show their characteristics, are simply unusual or maybe just catch your eye in a split second.”(RSPCA)

The under 12 years category winner will receive £200 Amazon vouchers, an exclusive photoshoot at one of the RSPCA animal centres, and an RSPCA Young Photographer Awards trophy plus a motion sensor that links to a camera which would be fantastic for nature photographs, wait until something comes into view and then start recording!

Runners-up of the Young RSPCA Photo Competition will receive a certificate.

Children need to be aware of the rules before entering.
