Dot Com Digital, from 2Simple, has a free transition pack, created in collaboration with the Staffordshire Police forces, the MET, and Essex Police, it is available from Purple Mash. It is a whole PHSE module based around keeping safe during teenage years, especially early on in secondary school.
“This transition pack, using resources from Dot Com Digital, has been created to support teachers and pupils primarily in Year 6 (and also Year 7). The content covered in the pack can be used by teachers to form the basis of a Junior Citizenship or Crucial Crew type series of sessions that schools can teach over the latter half of the summer term.” (2Simple)
The pack does cover sensitive issues so school discussions between teachers and SLT as well as letters home to parents probably need to be in place before starting.
The pack deals with
• Grooming
• County Lines
• Knife Crime
• Hate Crime
• Online Safety
• Making Safe Decisions
In addition to this free pack, there is a full school licence for Dot Com Digital available, which costs £500 + VAT yearly. These materials cover 24 themes, “which enables schools to fulfil a rich PSHE curriculum, whilst fulfilling the requirements of the 2020 RSE framework. The programme supports the teaching of Years 1-6 and includes overviews, videos, lesson plans and activities.” (2Simple)
