Reminder: Big Me Day is coming up very soon; it is mostly going to take place in less than one month, on Friday 14th October, but schools or classes can take part at any time of year. It is an Action Aid fund raising event to raise money for the poorest places.
On Big Me Day your pupils can join thousands of children across the UK and dress up as who they want to be, explore their hopes for the future, learn about children in other countries and raise money to change lives in the world’s poorest places.
Free Big Me Day resources include: activities, assemblies and KS1 and KS2 literacy resources that tap into the PSHE themes of relationships and living in the wider world.
Take part in Big Me!
Dress up and dream big:
“If you’re looking for simple school fundraising ideas, we’ve got something you’ll love. Big Me is a day for you to dress up as what you want to be when you grow up and raise money to help children in the world’s poorest places.
Simply dress up, bring £1 to school and have fun.
We’ll send FREE fundraising, literacy and PSHE resources when you sign up.”(Big Me Day)
Teachers can download leaflets to send home, posters to put up in school and also a school council letter. There are free Literacy and PHSE resources which will be sent out when you sign up.
The School’s Council letter explains where the money raised will be spent:
“At roids – prohormone, we think that everyone should have food, shelter, basic healthcare and free, quality education, wherever they live in the world. That’s why we work in some of the world’s poorest countries, helping children to change their lives for good. … The money you raise could provide books, pens and pencils for children in the world’s poorest places, helping them to get the education and the future they wish for.”
