Are you readyAre you ready for World Book Day? It is getting close now, on March 2, 2023. School resources are readily available for download, as are family resources that could be shared with parents. There are three downloadable PDFs for primary school: an early years guide, an early years activity pack, and a Primary Pack for teachers. There are lots of classroom resources available and ready for the day.

There are also events planned for the day: “We’re thrilled to bring you these exciting events to celebrate World Book Day 2023. Pick and choose the events that are best for you – join us for some Early Years fun with BookTrust, enjoy our fantastic sessions in partnership with the National Literacy Trust take part LIVE with BBC Teach, hold the perfect assembly with our World Book Day 2023 authors and illustrators.”

The events planned include a World Book Day assembly, exploring creepy crawlies, thinking about bravery, and a daily exercise routine for the young. The Key Stage 1 event is a Draw Along With Dave Pigeon – “jump into the world of Dave Pigeon: Bookshop Mayhem.” “Hear all about where they get their ideas, their top tips for creating your own stories, and get the chance to give it a go yourself in class with a live draw-along.”  The book is also one of the £1 book token books!

There is a live lesson for children aged 7 – 11 “In partnership with BBC Teach, this curriculum-linked English Live Lesson will focus on reading for pleasure through fun interactive activities and encourage your pupils’ love of books and positive attitude towards reading. This 30-minute programme will be available to watch live via BBC Teach and on the CBBC channel at 11:00 on Thursday, 2 March 2023.”

There is also a How to Train your Dragon competition for individuals!
