Bonfire Night, 5th November: “Remember, remember the fifth of November, Gunpowder treason and plot. We see no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot!”

UK Parliament week 14 – 20 November 2022
Thousands of primary schools across the UK will take part in the UK Parliament week event over the week of 14-20 November. Schools need to fill in a short online form to get a free event kit. The kit contains many curricular-linked activities, it’s packed with goodies including an activity booklet and ballot box. Sign up today!
2nd Chance Tech 2nd Chance Tech is a company that accepted old, donated computers, reconditions them, and sells them on very cheaply to people who desperately need them.
“2econd Chance C.I.C. is a computer recycling not-for-profit committed to reducing e-Waste and a training provider for people furthest away from the job market. Alongside providing professional computer recycling services, including free computer collection and secure data destruction, we also deliver free accredited training programmes for people not in employment, education or training.”
This is a much better option than computers going straight to the dump which frequently happens. This information could be useful to the whole school community.
Christmas Jumper Day is back – Thursday 8 December! “On Thursday 8 December, millions of people up and down the country will come together – at their workplace, school or with friends – to make the world better with a sweater. This year will be TWICE as good as before. Every time you donate £2, the UK government has totally promised to give £2 to Save the Children too*.”
Better Health, Every Mind Matters, is offering resources to help KS2 children explore the meaning and impact of bullying and cyberbullying. Teachers can download a Bullying and cyberbullying lesson plan pack where pupils “learn about the meaning and impact of bullying and cyberbullying, and explore appropriate ways of responding to hurtful or intimidating behaviour.”
