Barclays Code PlaygroundBarclays Code Playground offers interactive live classes that could be ideal for a Code Playground afterschool club.

Since 2018, we’ve worked with schools across the country to help students and teachers get the most out of computing sessions. Coding isn’t just a great skill for future employment opportunities, it also develops problem solving techniques, encourages creativity and collaboration through group projects. Coding also has exciting avenues in science, art, design and many more areas.” (Barclays Code Playground)

Code Playground sessions, each lasting about an hour, are hosted and repeated regularly for each month of the school year. Each theme will be repeated for a week so that everyone gets the opportunity to take part at a convenient time.

During the sessions, the pupils have the opportunity to create a simple and easy-to-follow project, with the help of Barclays Code Playground Digital Eagles.  Various free online coding resources, such as Scratch, micro:bit, and VEXcodeVR can be used to take part in the projects.

The Teacher’s Page explains more. The free resources can be used at home or at school, they build gradually, over the school year to cover aspects of the KS2 computing curriculum. To book sessions click this link.

There are some amazing projects available for pupils to access at any time.
