Safer Internet Day will soon be with us – on Tuesday the 8th of February – and as usual, there is a lot of material and resources available for schools to use to encourage children to be safe and use the internet safely.
A recent email claims that this year the event is going to be bigger and better than ever with more than 2000 schools and organisations joining in. It says:
“Share and use our Education Resources and Films
We have created a range of activities, presentations and films which can be used with young people aged 3-18. These free resources look at respect and relationships in online gaming, and contain lesson plans, activities, presentations and more to help you celebrate the day with your learners. These include resources for parents and carers which you can send home.”
The resources for parents include conversation starters, quick activities, and a family internet safety plan to help families to make the most of the event.
They have also launched a social media pack for Safer Internet Day 2022. designed to help schools celebrate the day on social media and includes information about the theme, as well as posts for social media that can be made in the lead-up to the whole event on 8th February.
