The UptoTen website is a collection of resources which may become really useful if we do end up going into lockdown once again! It is a large collection of games and activities for the young:
“UpToTen has been building prize-winning early-learning games and activities since 1999. Your child will love the reassuring, friendly world that our unique games inhabit. S/he will have enormous fun whilst building independence on the computer and now on tablets and smartphones.
UpToTen Kids : Early childhood education – UpToTen offers over over 1000 age-appropriate kids games (ages zero to ten) that are ideal for early learning. You can use UpToTen learning games to help your child develop whilst playing. Aimed at both preschool and primary age kids – up to ten!” (UpToTen)
Even if not used for school, it does look like a site suitable for sharing with parents as we move towards the Christmas holidays and folks are looking for suitable online games and activities for the bad weather.
There is a parent’s section: “You are in UpToTen Parents now. Take a look around and you will :
- Discover how to help your children learn by using multimedia effectively.
- Discover how your child can get the most from UpToTen Kids (they’ll learn AND have fun).
- Get to know UpToTen. Who is behind UpToTen, how do we work, what are our aims, what can we offer you and your children…?” (UpToTen)
The UptoTen website has a lot to offer – I have managed to see some of the games, without signing up either as a school or as a child, neither of which I can do – but I am sure that I cannot see it all!
