The Rio Olympics are coming up rapidly and there are several really interesting sets of resources available for children. Both the summer and the winter games offer wonderful opportunities to get children involved and excited about sport.
Perhaps introducing the Olympic theme towards the end of the school year and including a whole-school holiday homework project could be an interesting possibility. This would mean that children going into a new class would all have a similar interesting topic to explore for the start of the next school year.
“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well.” (Olympic Creed)
