Talk like a pirate day

September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day! There is a pirates site devoted to young pirates which has a lot of fun, games and activities suitable for children.

Even though talk like a pirate day started as an adult event, it has been adopted by many schools who have decided to cover a little pirate history and have a bit of fun on the day. Many teachers have made and shared lesson plans for all ages – Pirates in the Classroom

There is a whole set of ideas for Language Arts lesson plans for 4th-6th graders which are well worth looking through; there may well be stuff on the site which can also be used for Pirate Maths.
