Apple for Educators seminar was well attended yesterday at Eynsham Hall … report as follows:
“You had a choice of curriculum / technical iPad sessions … I did the iPad curriculum session lead by @Joe_Moretti.
The focus was on free teacher tools and following free iPad apps were recommended:
- SHOWBIE … works as a hub for teachers to set and share class projects … unlimited storage (for 500 accounts use the promocode joemoretti when registering)

I tried it at one of my school’s yesterday and it works like a dream. Install the software on a Win 7 Laptop ( XP not supported) and turn on the software. Get the iPad to mirror onto the device and that’s it!

As iPads become more popular in the classroom, schools may consider an Apple TV as an alternative to the traditional set up of an IWB / projector / laptop / speakers.
