Wednesday June 11th 1.30 – 4pm
This is the next in the program of 123ICT-School of Education Digital Learning Seminars taking place at Oxford Brookes Harcourt Hill Campus.
Following the success of our previous Hands-On Seminar, by popular demand our next seminar will focus on Scratch for Key Stage 2. As schools gear up for the new computing curriculum many of you have asked for advice on how you can teach programming to your pupils in a fun and engaging way.
This will be a Hands-On seminar, working through example exercises in a clear, non-threatening way with 123ICT consultants available to support you. We will also address activity planning to support skills progression.
WHAT TO BRING
You will have access to Oxford Brookes computing suite, but if you have Scratch 1.4 on your laptop it would be useful if you could bring this along with you. There will be opportunities to take example exercises away with you, so it would also be useful to bring a memory stick.
We will be sharing any ideas or case studies of Scratch projects that have worked well in your schools. So please bring along any examples you have.
Here’s some feedback from delegates attending a previous Hands-On Digital Learning seminar:
“Great to get the opportunity for hands on exploration of programs with expert support.” Robert North, ICT Coordinator, Orchard Meadow.
“Really useful to be hands-on with Scratch etc” Emma Stanley, ICT Coordinator, St Leonards Primary, Banbury.
Cost: £50 per delegate (free to schools with a 123ICT support contract).
To book your place please contact alison.richards@123ICT.co.uk
Please note, due to the hands-on nature of this seminar, places are limited. We can therefore initially only offer one place per school, with a waiting list for second places. Please book your place early, we expect this seminar to be very popular.
If you would like Scratch training for a number of staff members, we also offer in-school staff training. Please contact training@123ICT.co.uk for details.
