Here is a collection of Remembrance Day Resources and Activities, ready for use on the 11th of November.
That is the date when World War 1 ended and the armistice was signed. The day is now set aside to remember all those men and women who were killed during the two World Wars and during more recent wars and conflicts. Special events are held on the second Sunday in November, known as Remembrance Sunday, this year it’s on Sunday 13th November. Many school children may be involved in the commemorations through the Scout and Guiding movement.
BBC Newsround – Has a set of videos which may be useful in assemblies for Remembrance Day.

The iChild Remembrance Day Website – Starts with the reminder: “The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marks the signing of the Armistice, on 11th November 1918, to signal the end of World War One. At 11am on 11th November 1918 the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare.” (iChild Website). This site has a whole set of printable resources including, banners, planes, poems, acrostics and crafts.
