reeldirectorReelDirector is a video editing app that is really worth installing on a class set of iPads or iPhones.  

It fully supports HD video on iPhone 4 giving good quality videos. It is easy, intuitive and makes great little movies. It can be very simple – just record, add text and save – or much more complex adding transitions and music. It is £1.49 per item … slightly reduced if you have the educational discount.

The features offered include importing music from your iTunes music library as well as adding text overlay to each clip with different fonts and styles. You can rotate video, add and stitch together clips, drag-and-drop to rearrange the order as well as adding opening credits and closing credits with 8 styles and 9 positions to choose from.

There are some great transitions to put between between clips to smooth or blend the change from one scene to another. When the video is finished you can record voice-overs and mix soundtracks then finally share the finished movies by email or by uploading to You Tube.
