Our procurement service to schools

Posted by:

At the Head teachers’ conference in April, 123ICT set up a meeting with the OCC procurement team. They wanted to know a bit more about us and our strategies with the schools we work in; in turn we wanted to know how they could make our purchasing techniques more efficient and cost effective.

The meeting was really useful and thanks to OCC we now have account managers at XMA and Misco. Our ethical business model of offering schools a “not for profit” procurement service as part of their contract means that both companies offer our schools really competitive prices on ICT equipment.

For example, we recently advertised the following high-spec staff laptop deal from XMA via our June newsletter. The average retail price on this laptop is approximately £500 and it was so popular with our schools that the laptop sold out within a week:

Samsung NP200A5B-A02UK

Windows® 7 Professional (64 Bit)
Matt Black
Intel® Core™ i5 Processor (2.50 GHz, 3 MB L3 Cache)
15.6″ LED HD
500GB S-ATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
4GB DDR3 System Memory at 1333MHz (4GB x 1)
Free extras pack including 5 Years Warranty

Price to 123ICT schools: £399.84

123ICT will continue to work hard to negotiate deals with RM, XMA, Misco and our other suppliers on the full-range of IT products required by primary schools in Oxfordshire. Each month you will find examples of these via our newsletter and please contact us if you would like more details on our procurement service.
