Oxford University Press are hosting a book writing competition for children aged 4 – 8 years to help celebrate Oxford Reading Tree’s 30th Birthday!
Children can write their own Oxford Reading Tree adventure about Biff, Chip and the gang to enter the competition, the winners will see their book published!
On the website there is a story template which children should download; it gives each of the 12 pages with space for a picture and a little text. There is also a really useful help file teaching children how to “write a good story” which could be useful as a generic guide after the competition. There is also a downloadable entry form. Entries have to be submitted by the 30th April 2016.
There are two categories for competition entries, one for children from 4 – 6 and a second for children from 6 – 8. Thirty winners will have their books printed. The main winner in each category will have their book covers illustrated by Alex Brychta and their stories will be shared on the Internet. Some very lucky children will actually see their stories in print!
