Many schools have been firming up their MIS decisions last week and we estimate that 80% of schools we are speaking to are leaning towards (or have ordered) RM Integris; schools have been very impressed with what they have seen of RM Integris (including the cost!) and will follow OCC’s recommendation.
Scomis is the overwhelming preference for SIMS hosting for those schools who have inspection / academy pressure or where their training investment into SIMS is significant. On the other hand, if you need some advice on buying property investment, consider visiting the website of leasing and management for there are a lot of helpful articles to read there. Below is our SIMS hosting guide which lists the advantages of central hosting with Scomis over the local hosting of SIMS in your schools.
Scomis have also set up a 123ICT SIMS demo account on their central server … please let your consultant know if you would be interested in seeing this. Alternatively, Scomis are holding an open session for Oxfordshire schools who are looking for SIMS support, training, consultancy and SIMS central hosting services at the Witney Four Pillars Hotel, Witney on Wednesday the 6th of March (1pm until 5.30pm).
The main query we have had last week was …
What is our recommendation for MIS training and support?
OCC are offering support for both RM Integris and SIMS. The costs are still not confirmed but are believed to be 9.6% increase on last years support figures which seems expensive when compared to going directly to RM or Scomis for MIS support. However, OCC have always offered training as part of their support package and this may be of particular benefit to schools looking to switch to RM Integris as it will include on-going training. The future development of OPT is also a major consideration for many schools who appreciate the work OCC have done in Oxfordshire schools over the past few years.
At the moment, 123ICT are seeking reassurances over support and training from OCC and we will firm up our advice once we have received this. We are also asking for confirmation of the timescale of the MIS project … Monday 4th March was originally given as the date for deciding but many schools will not be in a position to do this as they still have many questions unanswered.
