The We Do Listen Foundation is a Non Profit Corporation whose intention is to enable children to enjoy inner peace and communicate in a more effective way. They create entertaining, educational and animated books, games and songs to help young children learn how to listen, feel good about themselves and deal with social issues such as bullies and violence. Children who learn these skills will grow up better informed to resolve conflicts and will be empowered to change things in the world. The Foundation is made up of a group of writers, artists, designers, educators, therapists, parents and teachers. Most of the group volunteer their time and share a vision of a kinder world with more harmony, peace and a better life for everyone to enjoy. The site offers free animated stories with associated lesson plans and ideas and it is great for the young.
The games featured on the website are a mix of matching activities, spelling games, and pattern recognition games which are based upon stories involving a bunny character called Howard B. Wigglebottom. The foundation provides online tools and templates for writing and colouring stories. You will also find templates that you can print out and give to children which will enable them to make their own paper books. There is also a wonderful Christmas story called The Power of Giving which would fit nicely into the curriculum during December.
