NB It is World Environment Day on June 5th!

You and the Environment – “When we talk about the environment we mean everything in the world around us that surrounds and affects all life on earth, including the air, food chains, the water cycle, plants, animals and other humans. “ This site offers lots of ideas for improving the environment,  in the home, in school and more.

Energy Kids – There are lots of games, tips, facts and information to help children learn how to save energy.

Environment – The British Council website has lots of environmental games etc. It was designed for children learning English but is fine for use in schools!

Time For Kids – Has lots of Environmental information covering all sorts, from bees making honey to octopus adventures!

Learning about the EnvironmentEekoworld  – Animated characters use games and activities to present children with facts about ecosystems and pollution. Children can build their own “EekoCreature” and help it overcome environmental problems.

Teaching Ideas  – The Environment page has lots of teacher-made resources ready for use in schools.

US Environmental Protection Agency – Has games, quizzes and other environmental resources for use in schools. Each resource is graded for age.

Earth Matters – Encourages sustainability.

Green Guide for Kids – This website is an on-line environmental resource for kids to find ideas, information, and inspiration to go green.

Field Trip Earth Join in The Wild Experience  – “Be a part of The Wild Experience, an exciting multimedia presentation designed especially for Field Trip Earth visitors. The Wild Experience takes us on a tour of the conservation research projects highlighted on Field Trip Earth. We’ll meet new people, see remote and fascinating places, and interact with wildlife both familiar and exotic—it’s an opportunity to work as wildlife researchers ourselves!”

The Treetures – The Treeture characters are guides that help children learn all about the way a tree functions and how important trees, plant life, birds, animals, and insects are to keeping our earth healthy. They are teaching tools that use fantasy to explain scientific facts.
