We have mentioned the Literacy Shed website previously, where resources for primary school Literacy are in abundance ; however, to help the inspiration of your children when writing, why not check out the site’s Inspiration Shed – inspire children’s writing? This shed has videos and teaching ideas on the theme of inspiration.
One of the recent ideas is “Made of More” using the Guinness cloud video which is based on a small cloud coming in from the sea – growing, learning and developing until it is powerful and can help in a way that usually defines life!
Teaching ideas on how to use the video to inspire writing are also provided. If you can’t see the film on the Literacy shed page (although the link seems alright now, I initially had problems viewing it), there is a copy of it on this page.
The Inspiration Shed is part of the Literacy Shed website – which has received over 4 million views and is used in 150 countries.
“Most of the resources can be used in KS1 and KS2 but some do lend themselves to the upper age group and above. The aim is to provide high quality resources that can be used in stand alone literacy lessons, can form the basis for a whole Literacy unit or can support literacy units that you already have in place. With the many book based activities I would advocate using the book alongside the digital resource. “(The Literacy Shed)
This brilliant Literacy site is worth checking frequently as there is an amazing collection of useful videos and best of all – ideas for how to use them!
