Historic Tale Construction Kit

Historic tale construction kitThe Historic Tale Construction Kit gives users a make-it-yourself opportunity to create a comic-like story which looks ancient. It is a great interactive tool which can be used to plan, create and then present stories, posters or signs, in the style of the Bayeux Tapestry.

Children can create their own stories; the stories could be based on real history, or their own imagination. It is very easy to use, just drag images to the canvas to compose the story panels; then, click on the canvas to enter text. The presentation is good and children can make something that looks ancient.

If wished, you can use elements from the Bayeux Tapestry to create your own design and then add your own narrative. There is a range of people, warriors, animals and buildings which you just drag onto your own “tapestry.”  If you do not want to use the images provided, simply upload your own. Multiple frames can be used so everyone can make one – it could make a great end of term history project!

When the stories are complete they can be submitted to a gallery or emailed to a friend. Users could also take screenshots of each person’s work and then bring the images together in order to share them in presentation,  word processing or whiteboard software.
