The harvest is a time of celebration in the UK when the crops from our fields have been gathered. It marks the end of the growing season for the year and in September the Harvest Festival is celebrated in many schools.

One idea for a harvest project is to order a free Harvest pack from the United Society website.
The BBC Learning Zone has a video clip showing “How Christians show their belief through good deeds and celebration. Christians use the Harvest Festival to think about how God loves the world and cares for it. Churches are decorated with the things that Christians are thankful for and they sing songs of gratitude. They also show they are followers of Jesus by doing the sorts of things Jesus himself used to do, such as looking after people who are less fortunate.”
