Ofsted says that eCadets is “An age-appropriate e-safety curriculum that is flexible, relevant and engages pupils’ interest; that is used to promote e-safety through teaching pupils how to stay safe, how to protect themselves from harm and how to take responsibility for their own and others’ safety. Positive rewards are used to cultivate positive and responsible use. Peer mentoring programmes.” (Ofsted Guidance on eSafety, 2015)
There are top tips for: teachers, parents and pupils – although these are still being populated. There are badges to be won, challenges to be completed and lots of learning to ensure that as many pupils as possible are safe when using the Internet. As the pupils complete challenges, they work towards a whole school target of the eCadet Gold Mark.
