20 years and counting …

In 1991 Nick completed his PGCE at Westminster
College and first set foot in Rush Common Primary School in Abingdon as a Year 5 teacher.

During the past 20 years Nick has worked in many (too many!) Oxfordshire schools; teaching, advising, running football teams and attempting to raise the standard of ICT.

Other notable events from 1991 include:

  • Ken Clarke was Education Secretary
  • Iraq invade Kuwait which leads to the first Gulf War
  • Average UK house price of £70,000
  • Apartheid is dismantled
  • Poll Tax is scrapped
  • Freddie Mercury died
  • The number of computers on the net reaches 1 million
  • Tim Berners-Lee introduces the web browser

… and Crystal Palace finished third in the Premier League (or First Division as it was in 1991).

Some things really do change!
