Our Featured Theme for February 2017 is the far-reaching and really creative topic of ‘Colour’

Colour. This month’s featured theme is the far-reaching and really creative topic of Colour.  Use of colour is something that is part of our every-day lives. Colour is all around us; it is used by artists, designers, engineers, journalists and advertisers to name but a few.  It can be used to alter the appearance and appeal of items, or locations and can also reflect moods and convey messages. This is why it makes for a really appealing and creative classroom topic.

We have over 40 great colour themed websites on offer; they include resources for both KS1 and KS2. The resources embrace the subjects of Art & Design, Science, Geography and RE. Collectively, the resources cover:  how colour is used in art and by artists, how colour may be mixed to make other colours, the science of light and colour, how rainbows are created, how colour is used in religious festivals and much more besides.

The colour themed resources comprise of a mixture of: information, facts, research, hands-on activities, illustrations and video clips, as well as some detailed planning – each of which will effectively underpin this great topic.

The featured theme is updated monthly during the school year. Watch out for our great ‘The Romans’resources coming in March 2017!
